Founder & Managing Director

Chowdhury Mohammed Hanif Shoeb

A respected industry leader, Chowdhury Mohammed Hanif Shoeb comes from one of Bangladesh’s well-known business families, where values of integrity, entrepreneurship, and community service run deep. Following in the footsteps of his late father, Dabiruddin Chowdhury — a pioneer of the Jamdani Saree trade and a highly regarded businessman and community leader — Mr. Shoeb built upon this heritage to establish Salma Group as a diversified powerhouse.

Guided by his father’s principles and his own vision for growth, Mr. Shoeb began his entrepreneurial journey with Salma Trade in 1998, later expanding into spinning with multiple textile mills, each known for precision manufacturing and consistent quality. In 2008, he diversified into real estate development with Angan Developments, delivering premium projects that combine modern design with enduring value.

Today, his leadership focuses on strategic oversight, governance, and mentorship, ensuring that Salma Group remains true to its values while adapting to a rapidly changing global business environment. He is committed to sustainable growth, long-term stakeholder relationships, and preparing the next generation — including Salma Chowdhury — to carry the Group’s vision forward.

Salma Chowdhury

Salma Chowdhury represents the next chapter in Salma Group’s leadership, bringing both global academic credentials and international professional experience to her role. She earned her BSBA in Accounting and Finance from Northeastern University in Boston, USA, followed by an MSA in Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business in New York, USA. Shortly thereafter, she obtained her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

She began her career at a Big 4 accounting firm, where she gained valuable experience in financial reporting, auditing, and strategic advisory for multinational clients. This experience honed her skills in governance, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Now working full-time at Salma Group, Salma plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence across the Group’s spinning and real estate divisions. She focuses on modernizing processes, strengthening international partnerships, and positioning the Group for sustainable, globally competitive growth.

Executive Director

Air Commodore A K M Rafique Uddin, BSP (Retd)

Serving as Executive Director in Salma Group since 2015, Air Commodore A K M Rafique Uddin, BSP (Retd) brings a distinguished career from the Bangladesh Air Force, where he retired as Air Commodore after holding senior leadership roles, including Director of Finance at Air HQ and Air Secretary overseeing officer career planning.

He holds Honours and Master’s degrees in Management from Dhaka University and has extensive national and international experience, including service in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations. Recognized with the Distinguished Service Medal (BSP) by the Hon’ble President, as well as commendations from the Chief of Air Staff and the United Nations, he brings exceptional organizational, operational, and strategic expertise to Salma Group.

Sadat Hossain Salim – Executive Vice Chairman

Executive Vice Chairman, Angan Developments Limited

Sadat Hossain Salim is a distinguished corporate leader with over four decades of experience in shaping and managing some of Bangladesh’s most prominent organizations. He holds master’s degrees in both Industrial Management and Business Management from the University of Leeds, and is a Fellow of the British Institute of Business Management, where he studied alongside global corporate visionaries — refining his strategic perspective and leadership style.

Beginning his career with Multinational Duncan Brothers, Mr. Salim went on to hold senior management positions in renowned conglomerates including Partex Group, Apex, HRC Group, Anwar Landmark Ltd., and Rupayan Housing Estate Ltd. Specializing in the real estate sector, he has introduced transformative solutions to housing and property challenges, blending innovation with operational excellence.

In his role as Executive Vice Chairman of Angan Properties Limited, he brings unmatched industry insight, strategic foresight, and a proven ability to deliver premium developments that embody trust and quality.
